Exact day this week parts of Kent will be as hot as Ibiza
Following a weekend of scorching hot temperatures, Kent is set to see even more gloriously warm weather, even competing with some of the nation’s favourite holiday destinations abroad. Current forecasts see the mercury reaching peaks in the mid-to-high 20s throughout the week, for much of the UK, and our county is no exception.
For us here in the Garden of England, it looks as though Tuesday (June 13) will be the hottest day of the week, according to the latest forecasts from the Met Office. On this day, temperatures could reach highs of 26C in places such as Tenterden and Royal Tunbridge Wells, reaching the same highs forecast for Ibiza and Magaluf.
High temperatures are expected for Kent throughout the week, following on from Tuesday, with consistent peaks around the mid 20C right into the weekend. Following a spell of heavy rain and even some thunderstorms for some parts of Kent on Monday (June 12), conditions are also looking far more settled for the remainder of the week, with bright and dry weather likely throughout.

Met Office meteorologist Dan Stroud said: “The weather will try and settle down on Tuesday and mid-week. But it will maintain this well-above-average temperature. Most of the UK will meet heatwave criteria.”
Currently, the Met Officer’s long range forecast until June 23 predicts that this hot weather will continue for some time. The Met Office for June 14 to June 23, says: “Otherwise, fine and sunny for most. Temperatures still likely warm or very warm.
“Light winds with sea breezes making it cooler along coasts. Through the rest of the period, plenty of settled and dry weather, most reliably so in the north of the UK – and drier than average overall.
“Some showers, or even thunderstorms possible, especially at first; greatest likelihood in the south, less so in the north. Warmer than average overall, with the highest chance of this in the west with very warm or even locally hot weather possible. Eastern areas, especially coasts, may however see cloudier, cool periods in a cooler north-easterly wind”

Looking into the evening, and showers are likely for some, followed by a fine and dry night with light winds and mostly clear skies. There is a chance for some more low cloud along the south coast, with minimum temperatures of 12C.
