Is Southampton vs Liverpool on TV? Kick-off time and live stream details

Southampton and Liverpool will finish off their Premier League campaign with a clash at St Mary’s, with both sides having endured a dissapointing season for varying reasons

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp previews the Southampton game

There will be little more than pride on the line at St Mary’s this weekend as Liverpool and Southampton round off their Premier League seasons.

The Reds saw their Champions League hopes ended on Thursday night courtesy of Man United’s win over Chelsea. It means Klopp’s side cannot finish higher than fifth, but their away following will be buoyed by the opportunity to bid farewell to Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner – all of whom are likely to feature.

Southampton meanwhile, are already confined to relegation, with all eyes on which two teams will join them. For interim boss Ruben Selles, today will represent his final bow in the hot seat, with the club already confirming he won’t get the job full-time next season.

When is Southampton v Liverpool?

The two sides will meet at St Mary’s in the Premier League clash today on Sunday, May 28, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30pm.

Asked his thoughts on team selection for the weekend, Klopp told reporters on Friday: “Southampton? Think it makes sense that we make changes, to get fresh players on the pitch, and players who want to show something.”

That doesn’t mean he will be giving departing players a token run-out though, adding: “I will see, I don’t know. Sentimentality isn’t in my thoughts, I want to line up the right team. I will try to line up a team who is ready for the game, to run 12km in the game, for the challenges and these things.”

Is the match on TV?

Unfortunately not. Sky Sports will focus on the relegation battle by showing Leicester City v West Ham United and Everton v Bournemouth, also showing Aston Villa’s bid to secure European football at home to Brighton. BT Sport meanwhile, have coverage of Leeds United v Spurs.

Fans not at St Mary’s will be reliant on updates from Sky Sports or the internet, with Mirror Football following the action live.
