• Rondout Valley Methodist Church’s third annual car show returns Saturday, June 17. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. with judging from noon to 2 p.m. The award ceremony will begin promptly at 2 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Brian and “MUSICFUSHION.” Free admission for spectators. • The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County will host a free bicycle repair clinic for the community on June 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is June 18. Those in need of assistance should contact the Y’s new bicycle program manager Justin Ledoux via email at [email protected].
• The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County will present the Black Power Exhibit Volume I, which features performances, exhibits and interactive installations as part of its Juneteenth celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 17 at 507 Broadway in Kingston, N.Y. • The Rosendale Farmers Market has opened for the season. The market takes place Saturdays through Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Willow Kiln Park behind the Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St. There is live music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will be crafts and educational programs for children on select days. • A fundraiser to support the Marbletown Community Center will take place Saturday, June 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the center, 3564 Main St. (U.S. Route 209), Stone Ridge. There will be entertainment, food and drinks, and an auction, as well as community and special guests.
• St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, 2578 state Route 212, Woodstock, will host a Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. The festival will feature handmade strawberry shortcakes, a variety of strawberry-themed goods and desserts, ice cream by Sawyer Ice Cream Company and musical entertainment. Items will also be available for takeout.
• The Wiltwyck Quilters Guild will have a meeting on Saturday, June 17, at Grace Community Church, 160 Seremma Court, Lake Katrine. • The documentary film “Samsara” (2011) will be screened at the Vivekananda Retreat Ridgely at 101 Leggett Rd., Stone Ridge, Saturday, June 17, at 7 p.m. The Movies With Spirit screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion. • Gardiner Library, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike, Gardiner, will host a Repair Café on Sunday, June 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. Repair Café is a free event where community members bring beloved but broken items, and together, with volunteer repair coaches, fix them. • The Rhinebeck Farmers Market’s outdoor market has opened for the season, operating Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Dec. 17. This season’s market, held in the municipal parking lot located at 61 E. Market St., will feature over 30 vendors. New vendors will include include Millbrook Beef & Dairy, of Millbrook. A rotating slate of baked goods includes Mighty Donuts, of Red Hook, Little Carrot Baking Co., of Patterson, N.Y., and the Little Rye Bakehouse, of Kingston. • “Into My Hands: Recent Donations to Ulster County Archives,” featuring a sampling of records donated to the Ulster County Archives between 2011 and 2022, is on display in the second-floor Archives Gallery at the Ulster County Office Building at 244 Fair St., Kingston. The donated records date from 1678 to 2022. They range from land sale transactions, court records, maps, family collections and photographs to reference books and last year’s unexpectedly popular “I Voted” sticker. • A benefit concert will take place on Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., Rosendale. The performance lineup includes Tom Chapin, Guy Davis, Professor Louie & Miss Marie, Walt Michael & Co., Brenda Bufalino & Michael Sansonia, and The Vanaver Caravan. • Ian Flanigan, a Saugerties native and contestant on “The Voice,” and Spencer Crandall will support headliner Michael Ray during the “Concert in the Catskills” at Catskill Point on Saturday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $75 for VIP. • The Ulster County Master Gardener Volunteers are having a free party on Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SUNY Ulster, 491 Cottekill Road, Stone Ridge. • The Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase will present The Secret Trio in concert at Maverick Concerts, 120 Maverick Road, Woodstock, on Friday, July 7, at 8 p.m. The Secret Trio is comprised of Ara Dinkjian, Ismail Lumanovsk and Tamer Pinarbşı. • The Kingston Midtown Arts District’s ninth annual Celebration of the Arts EXPO returns Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event offers attendees a hands-on opportunity to experience various art forms. • Kingston’s Children’s Day Parade returns Friday, July 14 with the theme of “Out of This World.” The parade will step off from Pine Grove Avenue onto Broadway, at 6 p.m. The procession will then head up Broadway and onto Albany Avenue. It will then make a right turn onto Clinton Avenue before hanging another right onto Westbrook Lane. The parade will conclude at Kingston Plaza towards the back of Herzog’s store. • Westchester Circus Arts return to High Meadow School at 3643 Main St, Stone Ridge this summer for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
