Kelly Rowland has hinted she will release a brand new album – which will be her first in a decade.
The 42-year-old chart topping star last unleashed a record back in 2013 with the release of Talk A Good Game which included the singles Kisses Down Low and Dirty Laundry.
But fans who have patiently been waiting for new music from the star may not have too much longer to wait as Kel has teased brand new tracks are on the way.
And what’s more is that she has hinted her next album, which would be her fifth, will be unleashed with next to no warning or pre-release fanfare.
Speaking to The Sun, Kelly said she is contemplating a shock release of her record.
She said: “It’s spontaneity. Everybody knows everything now. There are no surprises and it’s kind of annoying to me.”
Kelly’s debut solo album, Simply Deep, was released back in 2002 and was a UK Number 1 album – with tracks on the record including stand out hits Stole and Can’t Nobody.
Her other two albums were titled Ms Kelly and Here I Am and were released in 2007 and 2011 respectively.
Huge hits over the years include Commander and When Love Takes Over, both with David Guetta, Motivation, with Lil Wayne, and Dilemma, with Nelly.
Kelly was a core member of US girl group Destiny’s Child whose most famous line-up saw her singing alongside Beyonce and Michelle Williams.
Beyonce is currently on her Renaissance World Tour – which has been taking the UK by storm in recent weeks.
She has played Cardiff, Edinburgh and Sunderland and is in the midst of a multi-night string of gigs at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While Beyonce is still to perform at the North London venue on Saturday and Sunday night, Kelly will take to the main stage of the Mighty Hoopla festival on Saturday nigh in Brockwell Park in Tulse Hill in south London.
Speculation is rife that Kelly may then join Beyonce on stage at her concert on Sunday night as both megastars will be in the capital.
They were members of Destiny’s Child and released music while in the group from 1997 until 2006 before going on to become solo stars.
They last performed together in 2018 when Beyonce performed a headline set at the Coachella music festival and invited Kelly and Michelle to join her on stage.
In 2021, fans were thrown into a frenzy of excitement when the official Destiny’s Child Twitter account unexpectedly updated the cover image – sparking hopes that the band would reunite to release new music.
However, the trip have instead continued to unleash solo music instead.
