Kent hour-by-hour weather forecast with King’s birthday flypast to fly over county

Kent hour-by-hour weather forecast with King’s birthday flypast to fly over county

King Charles III will be celebrating his official birthday on Saturday (June 17), and to mark the special occasion, an impressive flyover will take place over Buckingham Palace. Around 70 aircraft will be taking part in the display, including the iconic Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight, among many others.

A similar flyover had been planned for His Majesty’s coronation in May but was scaled down due to poor weather conditions. As such, the King’s birthday flyover has been increased in size to honour the new monarch.

Though the King’s actual date of birth is November 14, His Majesty will also be honoured with celebrations of his birthday every year in June with the Trooping the Colour event. The first birthday flypast for the new monarch will take to the skies over Buckingham Palace at 1pm, with airspace restrictions imposed between 11.45am to 1.30pm in the vicinity of the North Sea, East Anglia, Essex and London.

The flypast will therefore likely be visible from parts of north Kent, particularly around Dartford, Gravesend and areas just outside of Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks. Air restrictions will be in place among many Greater Kent regions also. This includes the skies above Bromley, Orpington, Bexley, Biggin Hill, Sidcup and Greenwich.

Further information about the flyover can be found here. The current Met Office forecast for the south-east and London today states: “Very warm, but with more cloud than recent days.

“Developing hazy sunny spells may be interrupted by isolated showers, with some showers potentially heavy and thundery. Onshore winds will keep coastal areas slightly cooler. Maximum temperature 27 °C.”
