Latest Wiltshire road closures and speed limit changes

ALDBOURNE C189 (Part): from its junction with Stock Lane to outside its property known as Whitley Cottage. 

ALDBOURNE, Stock Lane (Part): from its junction with C189 to its junction with Whitehards bottom to enable C&R Forestry to carry out removal of trees and associated maintenance works.

Alternative route via Stock Lane (unaffected length) – Marlborough Road -Castle Street – Ogbourne Road – Woodsend and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 26 and the closure for phase one will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for one day. Phase two will come into operation on June 27 between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for two days.

CHARLTON, A342 (Part): from outside its property known as Charlton Cat Tea Room for a distance of approximately 270m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out felling of trees that are affected by ash dieback.

Alternative route via A342 (unaffected length) – A360 – B3086 – A345 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 26 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 until July 7. 

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT, New Road (Part): from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a westerly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out works to recover a missing valve, conduct repairs and other associated works.

Alternative route via New Road (unaffected length) – A3102 – Station Road and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 30 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for three days.

FROXFIELD, Brewhouse Hill (Part): from outside its property known as Chapel House for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out boundary box install Cway in carriageway. Alternative route via Great Bedwyn Road – Browns Lane – Forest Hill – A4 and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 26 and the closure will be required for three days.

BRINKWORTH, C106 (Part): from its junction with C88 for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out a chamber replacement to restore service and other associated works.

Alternative route via C106 (unaffected length) – C104 – C67 – Queen Street – C88 and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 5 and the closure will be required for three days.

CHIPPENHAM, Monkton Hill (Part): from its junction with St Marys Place for a distance of approximately 62m in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out rebuilding of boundary wall alongside electrical substation and associated works. Alternative route via Monkton Hill (unaffected length) – New Road – Station Hill and vice versa.

This order will come into operation on June 5 and the closure will be required until June 23. 

SPEED LIMIT

Wiltshire Council is to introduce a 30mph speed limit on A429 Burton Hill, St Paul Malmesbury Without – from a point 72 metres south of its junction with Arches Lane to a point 163 metres south of its junction with Storey Mews.
