Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh has become subject to strong interest from both Burnley and Luton Town as the side prepares for Championship football.

Luton and Burnley both clinched promotion from the Championship last season and are loving life as Premier League sides this summer.

In order to retain their top flight status, both clubs are going to be looking to make signings, and Fabrizio Romano has reported that both sides are looking to sign Leeds right-back Cody Drameh after his successful loan with the Hatters in 22/23.

Leeds are said to be fighting to keep the 21-year-old, but may be losing this battle after casting the defender out.

Here, we look at two reasons why Leeds shouldn’t be shocked that PL offers are there for Drameh…

He’s proved the club wrong

Two seasons in a row, Drameh has been subject to a bizarre pecking order at Leeds where he’s not been able to get any sort of regular playing time, even in the cup competitions.

Meanwhile, those in front of him have really struggled in the Premier League both going forward and defensively.

Drameh pursued loan opportunities, and showcased how good he can be both at Cardiff City and at Luton Town, two sides at contrasting ends of the table.

After the Cardiff stint, there was enough evidence that he was worth a shot, and then Jesse Marsch failed to give him that chance, and he’s proven again that he’s too good to be sat there behind two players in the pecking order.

Will Leeds get promoted in 2023/24?

He deserves the opportunity

On top of this, he was a key part of the side that clinched promotion to the Premier League in Luton, and they will want to retain as many players that earned this chance as they can.

Drameh isn’t likely to cost a fortune if he does leave, knowing that he’s only got a year left on his deal, and will surely have ambitions of playing in the top flight.

The fact that not only Luton are keen on him but Burnley too shows you that it’s not just a flash in the pan, but clubs see a real future for him.

It’s just a real shame Leeds were never able to tap into that as they should have done.

Can you remember Leeds United’s most recent result against their 23/24 Championship rivals?
