As Liverpool’s busy summer continues, some of the Reds’ stars have been busy with their national teams,

Trent Alexander-Arnold was handed the number 10 shirt by England manager Gareth Southgate for Friday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta, and rose to the occasion. The Liverpudlian excelled, scoring the second goal in a 4-0 win which takes the Three Lions one step closer to a place in Germany next summer.

Others have been in action elsewhere, with Ibrahima Konate starting France’s win in Gibraltar, while other international stars could yet find themselves moving to Anfield over the summer. Here are the latest transfer lines from around Anfield.

Mane coy on Newcastle links

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane has appeared to leave the door open on a Premier League return.. Newcastle have been linked with the Senegal star, who has struggled since leaving Anfield for Bayern Munich.

Mane has been back in his home country at an EITI International conference. Also there was former MEP Martin Callahan, who claims to have received an interesting answer upon quizzing the 31-year-old.

“I’m in Senegal speaking at ⁦the EITI⁩ conference. Honoured to meet ⁦Sadio Mane in the hotel,” Callahan said. “I couldn’t resist asking him about coming to Newcastle next season. His enigmatic reply: ‘Never say never!’”
