Meet the secret motorway ‘vigilante’ who has made it his mission to catch dangerous drivers

A secret motorway ‘vigilante’ has vowed to continue targeting unsuspecting drivers who use their phones at the wheel and potentially put lives in danger. Jason is the man behind the YouTube account VOSA Audits, which highlights examples of dangerous driving on our roads, and calls for police to take action against them.

Perhaps understandably, he doesn’t want to reveal his full identity. He explained how he felt compelled to set up the account after being left furious at witnessing dangerous driving and motorists apparently getting away with it in many cases.

Jason spoke to BirminghamLive after we reported on his footage of a driver brazenly scrolling through his phone while doing nearly 70mph at Junction 10 of the M6 in Walsall. He says he will continue to post videos showing motorists breaking the law.

Jason, who shares footage from across the UK, said: “I started the channel, VOSA Audits, because I saw the police doing very little if anything to curtail the problems we face every day on our roads. The Government has cut back police funding to a point that there are few if any patrol cars on our motorways and highways.

“Can I ask, when did you last see a patrol car on our motorways? I have spent years trying to report dangerous driving and even sent in videos to the police portal but nothing is done. The police need to keep us all safe and ticket/fine these drivers.

“I have hundreds of videos and pictures now sent into my channel, I can’t upload everything. The police need to immediately take action and run operations on the highways and motorways to stop mobile phone use.”
