On good terms! Jenelle Evans shares rare family photo with mom Barbara

MTV’s Most Iconic Duo! Jenelle Evans turns a new leaf with her mother, Barbara Evanssince she was awarded custody of her 13-year-old son Jace earlier this year.

“It’s nice when we all get along 💐❤️ #HappyMothersDay,” de Teenage mother 2 alum, 31, wrote via Instagram on Monday, May 15, along with a series of photos from her family’s Mother’s Day gathering.

The first photo included the majority of Jenelle and husband David Jason‘s blended family: Eason’s daughter Maryssa, 15, who he shares with ex-wife Whitney JohnsonJace, who shared Jenelle with ex Andrew Lewisson Kaiser, 8, who shares Jenelle with ex Nathan Griffithand Jenelle and Eason’s daughter Ensley, 6. (Eason is also father to son Kaden, 9, with ex Olivia Ledham.) Barbara, for her part, stood in front of Jace, who put his arm around his grandmother. The group all smiled for the camera as they posed in front of a waterway.

The second picture featured just Jenelle, Eason and their kids, while the third featured the former MTV personality posing with her three little ones. Jenelle also shared solo photos of herself dining out with her family, as well as a photo of her and her eldest, who she regained custody of earlier this year, Us weekly revealed exclusively at the time. (Barbara had been Jace’s primary guardian since he was a baby.)

During her time on 16 and pregnant And teen mom 2, Jenelle and her mom have had their fair share of drama over the years, especially when it comes to custody of Jace. However, in March the Read between the lines author exclusively told Us that she and Barbara worked it out and transferred custody to Jenelle.

“My mom and I have decided together to give me back full custody because we want to rebuild our relationship as mother and daughter,” Jenelle told us exclusively. Us in a statement at the time. “Also, my mom agrees it’s time for Jace to be back with his siblings and live with a mom and dad.”

While Barbara had taken care of her grandson all his life, her daughter told Us that her mother had given her blessing for the teen to live with Jenelle and her husband, 34.

She’s watched David raise my kids and she knows we can handle it,” the North Carolina native explained of the decision. “We all want to get along for the sake of the children and, as I said before, restore our relationship as mother and daughter. In addition to strengthening her bond with Jace, Jenelle confessed E! News that while she and her mother have also worked on improving their dynamic, it is still difficult at times.

“My relationship with my mother has [gotten] a little bit better, but honestly she’s still a little controlling,” she told the outlet in late March. “I think it will take a while for her to get used to this change.”
