Our Liverpool: Fond memories of Sefton park after ‘glorious weather’
Hello and welcome to Our Liverpool.
This weekend people were out in the masses to enjoy the sun and the amazing weather that blessed the city. On Sunday as temperatures were hotter than in Madrid, many took to the beloved Sefton Park to make the most of the ‘glorious weather’.
The weather bought back many happy memories. On Facebook, Tess Ryan said: “Love it. Great memories of the boating lake with my lovely dad as a child then as a teenager.

“Larks in the Park after sitting my O-levels such a wonderful place. My children love it too.”
Chris Davies said: “Love Sefton park. My grandad was a Gardner at the palm house many years ago.”
Abdur Rahim, who studied in Liverpool, was made nostalgic by photos posted by the ECHO: “It’s going to be nine years. I miss your morning walk Sefton Park.”
Dad ‘abandoned and forgotten’ after eight months in hospital
Paul, a dad from Liverpool, and his partner Elaine were waiting for his daughter at the Ariana Grande concert on May 22 2017 when a homemade bomb was detonated, killing Elaine and 21 others. On the sixth anniversary of the attack, Paul has spoken about coming to terms with his new life after the horror incident, saying “it’s taken five years to really get where I am now.”
Dog walker found mum’s body three years after she went missing
The body of a mum was found burned in a fire pit years after she went missing by a dogwalker. Paula Houslea was 37 at the time of her disappearance and the mystery behind her death after she was found three year later in 2012 remains unsolved.
Merseyside Police said: “The person who did this has lived with this on their conscience for 14 years,” adding “A murder investigation is never closed.”
Land in offshore trust worth £400k sold by council to Elliot Lawless for £18k
Land in Toxteth turned into an apartment block recently hit by claims over an ‘illegal eviction attempt’ was sold to the developer by Liverpool Council for £18,000. The ECHO has obtained documents from Liverpool Council showing the council sold the land to one of Elliot Lawless’ companies Parliament (sic) Place Ltd in 2016, for £18,000 plus £2,000 in legal fees under a delegated decision overseen by then head of regeneration Nick Kavanagh.
