Premier League just offered Liverpool transfer prompt as two ‘targets’ emulate Erling Haaland
In 2019/20, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was named the Premier League Young Player of the Season.
Alexander-Arnold scored four goals and notched 13 assists in 38 appearances for the Reds, who romped to the title with 99 points.
Only Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (20) created more goals than the Englishman that year.

Alexander-Arnold unsurprisingly beat off competition from the likes of Jack Grealish, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford to claim the prize.
He met the criteria (23 or under at the start of the season) to be considered for this year’s award, but his recent run of top form in a new-look role has come too late to force him into contention.
The Premier League revealed its list of eight nominees on Friday, with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland the runaway favorite after scoring a record 36 goals.
Arsenal trio Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka also feature, along with Newcastle pair Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.

Intriguingly, the candidates also include two reported Liverpool transfer targets in Alexis Mac Allister and Moisés Caicedo (via Goal), both of whom play for Brighton.
Liverpool.com says: It’s no surprise to see Mac Allister and Caicedo make the shortlist. Both have been instrumental for the Seagulls, who have been one of this season’s biggest overachievers.
Mac Allister (24) has netted 10 league goals, at least two more than any of his teammates, while the more defensively-minded Caicedo (21) ranks second in the league for tackles, and 10th for interceptions.
The Premier League has given the Reds something of a transfer prompt, because lowering the age profile of their midfield while still upgrading its quality is a crucial summer task.
By getting Premier League proven players, there would be as little in the way of an adaptation period as possible — and with no time to waste when getting back to the top, that could be vital too. As the Premier League’s YPOTY shortlist shows, Mac Allister and Caicedo would be top options.
