Retained lists give Birmingham City options as transfer window date set

The summer transfer window won’t swing into gear until next month for Birmingham City and their rivals when domestic football finishes in England.

While the Championship season ended two weeks ago, the Premier League still has one round of fixtures to play. The Scottish Premiership also won’t conclude until the final weekend of May.

EFL clubs will be allowed to complete domestic deals from June 14 before international transfers are permitted from July 1. The window will close at 11pm on September 1 in line with other European leagues.

Blues have their work cut out again this summer after John Eustace lost five loan players at the end of last season. All five will need to be replaced, while there are doubts over the futures of seven out-of-contract stars.

A number of Championship clubs have now announced their released and retained lists – and there are some big names available on free transfers.

Stoke City: Phil Jagielka, Aden Flint, Demeaco Duhaney, Morgan Fox, Sam Clucas, Nick Powell
