The parish council is working to get the planning conditions approved by (WCC) before the tower can be used. Contractors have been provisionally booked in for the last week of June to install the equipment with the hope of opening the playground in early July.

KINGS Worthy Parish Council has appointed a new deputy clerk, Anita Husz, who will assist the clerk, Christopher Read, with the day-to-day management, servicing of meetings and ensuring the council operates within the regulations and guidelines.

THE Cricketers Inn, in Easton, is now serving full English breakfasts on Saturday mornings from 9am to midday with free unlimited tea and coffee with every breakfast. The breakfast launch follows new landlord Jason Colbourne’s takeover earlier this year.

ORGANISERS of Littleton and Harestock Show have announced the event will be back this year on Saturday, September 2.

Arena events confirmed for the show include Dog Gymkhana, Stax of Soul, Jelvis, Open Mic. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, Reg Day Funfair, Punch and Judy, Eastleigh Model Boat Club and Wessex Ferret Club have also signed up.

WITH the rain among the hot weather, Littleton residents are once again being urged to listen out for Midwife toads with their electronic beeping like calls. Midwife Toads are smaller than the native toads, with adults reaching around 5cm in length. They can also be distinguished by their eyes which have vertical pupils rather than horizontal/oval pupils of England’s two native toads.

THE Friends of Sparsholt School are setting up a second-hand uniform website. Anyone with Sparsholt Church of England Primary School uniform that they’ve outgrown or no longer need can hand it into the school office in Woodman Lane to be re-homed.

The school charity will be posting details for the website, which parents can buy second-hand uniform from before the new academic year starts in September.

The primary school also has a learning support assistant vacancy for September. The contract is fixed term and part-time with the successful candidate working 8.30am to 3.30pm during term time. Applications close on Wednesday, June 28.
