Students on the Rise | School News

Abigail Snee, a native of Brentwood, was recently initiated into the University of Rhode Island Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 1,869 new initiates from 78 universities during April 2023. Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.

Matthew Wright from Atkinson, majoring in Computer Science, was named to the Spring 2023 Dean’s Honor List at Cedarville University.

Daniel Hayes of Plaistow was welcomed into Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society on May 5th at the Western New England University chapter’s annual induction ceremony in Rivers Memorial Hall. Hayes is working toward a BSBA in Accounting.

At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology that addresses an important societal need or issue. About two-thirds of students complete a project at one of the university’s 50-plus off-campus project centers, which are located around the world. The following students completed these research projects: Aisling Corcoran of East Hampstead, Class of 2024, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering, completed a project titled “Motivating Sustainable Lifestyle Habits for Costa Rica” and Jacob Adams of Sandown, Class of 2024, majoring in Computer Science, completed a project titled “A Redesign of Danish Dental Software”.
