Tyler Blackburn Lists Los Angeles Home – DIRT

His 11 million Instagram followers knew weeks ago that Tyler Blackburn, best known for his role as Caleb Rivers on the cult-fave series “Pretty Little Liars” and its spinoff “Ravenswood,” had moved house because he posted a rave review (and a discount code!) about the company that moved his belongings to his new digs. And now, the 36-year-old actor’s vacated home in L.A.’s often under-rated Atwater Village neighborhood has come to market with Alex Barad of Nourmand & Associates for a tad under $2 million.

Blackburn acquired the 1922 Tudor-inspired cottage in early 2015 for $965,000. While the interior of the 1,645-square-foot abode had already been comprehensively updated prior to his purchase, Blackburn transformed the gardens, both front and back. The arched porch and front door, now sequestered behind a fluttering Podocarpus hedge and secured entry gates, are framed by mature olive trees.

Windows dip almost to the floor in the living room, where preserved original features include an arched ceiling and an impressive tiled fireplace. Modern updates include opening the kitchen to the dining area and installing upscale Carrara marble in the communal hall bath as well as the attached bath in the primary bedroom.

Three rooms across the back of the house — the primary bedroom, a sitting room off the dining area, and one of the secondary bedrooms — all open to a bougainvillea-draped covered deck. Little more than a sparsely planted yard with a circular crushed granite patio, Blackburn scrapped it all and added a plunge pool and tiled spillover spa, a sunbathing deck and thickets of tropical plantings.

A playhouse/shed was removed, and the two-car garage garage was finished with a beamed ceiling, a wall of built-in storage, and a wide bank of black-glass doors that fold open to a patio lounge. High and dense hedging ensure skinny-dip style privacy in a self-contained oasis just half a block from Atwater’s bustling village, a wide boulevard lined with a diverse array of shops and eateries, both old school and trendy, not to mention a great tennis shop.

After “PTL” and “Ravenswood, Blackburn, who came out as bisexual in 2019, signed on to the sci-fi drama “Roswell, New Mexico.” During the third season, he stepped back from the role due to what he described last year as “intense” physical and mental health issues. Per his social media, he’s since spent some time relaxing in some pretty swanky spots in Mexico and, in between, worked a deal with a moving company to have all his belongings packed and shipped to his new home.
