Where and exactly when thunderstorms will strike Sheffield, York, Bradford and Huddersfield today

A number of different places in Yorkshire are forecast to experience some thunderstorms in the late afternoon on Thursday, June 22.

The Met Office forecasts early morning weather to be largely sunny across all of Yorkshire. Some early afternoon showers are predicted in almost all places too.

However, from around 4pm, this will start to morph into heavy rains, thunder and lightning. Depending on the place, the thunder may arrive well into the evening or even the night.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Sunny spells and light winds. A few showers will likely break out, and one or two could be heavy and thundery. Maximum temperature 24 °C.”

Sheffield

Sunny intervals changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Showers to start at 6pm. Thunderstorms expected at 7pm and to last till 8pm. Sunny spells after.
