Youth baseball

In Concord Babe Ruth baseball, Kiwanis and Concord Police Patrolmen’s Association battled to a 4-4 tie. Dylan Hassapes and Jamey Skafidas pitched well for CPPA, scattering four runs over seven innings. Skafidas and Hassapes also led the way at the plate with two hits apiece. For Kiwanis, Tyler Mayo pitched well. Andrew King scored two runs and made a key catch in the outfield to preserve the tie.

■In Concord Little League AAA action, Associated Grocers won a pair of games.  AG efeated Black Flag, 11-1. Jack Wade was the winning pitcher with three innings pitched, seven strikeouts and no runs allowed. He helped himself with three singles. Joel Giordano led the offense, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two huge hits. Ryder Wyatt played excellent at first base. For Black Flag, Hendrix Hildum did a great job as catcher. Weston Beaulieu pitched well in relief. In the second game, AG beat Buffalo Wild Wings, 15-2. Nolan Wade pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts in four innings. Michael Bozek was 3-for 3-with three singles. Sam Sexton hit a grand slam. John Cloutier hit well for BWW and Kyle Bowers had a great game at first base.

■In Concord Babe Ruth action, Banks shut out Concord Police Patrolmen’s Association, 13-0. Jonathan Degges made his pitching debut for CPPA, striking out two and giving up no hits in an inning of work. Greyson LeFlem contributed on offense with a hit. For Banks, Gray West, McGregor Anthony and Thomas Parizo all had hits. Cooper Owens preserved the shutout on the mound.

■ In Concord Babe Ruth action, Concord Police Patrolmen’s Association defeated Banks, 9-6. For Banks, Jacques McCrillis had two hits and scored a run. Isaac Vaillancourt had two hits, including a triple, and scored two runs. For CPPA, Lucas Golden was a bright spot, earning the win and scoring two runs. Deagan Hines had two hits and earned the save with five strikeouts in two innings of work.

Youth lacrosse

The Concord Crush U10 girls lost to Exeter, 11-6. Concord’s offense was led by Reese Nelson, Ruth Connelly, Harper Vega and Mae Clattenburg. Evie Landry played well at middie and Marian Diaz played well on defense. Mackenzie Noel played a strong game in goal.

Local golf

Mike Matthews recently aced the 155-yard fourth hole at Pembroke Pines. Matthews used a 6-iron to score his first hole-in-one. The shot was witnessed by Jenna Kiel, Owen Matthews and Chris Crump.

NH Hoop Skills Girls Basketball Day Camps, led by coach Karen Pinkos, will be held at Southern New Hampshire University on June 27-30 and July 25-28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for girls in grades 2-9. Crimson Tide Basketball Camps, hosted by Concord High boys’ varsity coach Tim LaTorra, will be held this summer for boys and girls going into grades 3-9 of next school year. The camps will be held at Concord High from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Girls’ camp week will be July 17-21 and the boys’ week will be July 24-28. Last year there were over 100 campers so the camp is being split into two weeks this year. Please visit the Concord Parks and Rec website ( to register.

Spartan Basketball Camp will run July 31-Aug. 4 for any players in grades 4-12. The camp will be held at Pembroke Academy and will be led by Pembroke Academy boys’ basketball coaches Mike Donnell, Jim Cilley and Julia Valotto. There are only 20 spots open for each group. Boys and girls in grades 4-6 will meet from 8:30-10 a.m., boys in grades 7-8 will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon, girls in grades 7-8 will meet from 12:30-2 p.m., boys in grades 9-12 will meet from 2:30-4 p.m. and girls in grades 9-12 will meet from 4:30-6 p.m. The camp will include both offensive and defensive drills, and scrimmages.
