Proudly waving their rainbow flags! Allies love Melissa McCarthy And Christine Quinn joined LGBTQ+ icons like Tinashe And Niecy Nash Betts for 2023 pride celebrations.
Lance Bass began coverage of the West Hollywood Pride Parade on June 4 by discussing what the month means to him. “There are many things I think about with pride. One, celebration of who we are, how far we’ve come [and] in honor of those who have gone before us so that we can do this, ”said the singer, to whom she is married Michael Turchin since 2014, explained during a KTLA’s parade broadcast.
He continued: “But the temperature right now for the LGBTQIA community is very hostile right now. So pride is a protest. It started as a protest and it is still a protest. So, as you can see, there are many people standing up for what is right and protesting for what they believe in.”
Stars who identify as straight also show their support for the queer community. McCarthy was honored as an “ally icon” at the WeHo event.
Meanwhile, Quinn, a former Netflix star sell sunsetshared a special message before joining the parade in California.
“A phoenix rising from the ashes of hatred, a vibrant rainbow after the storm of intolerance. Shedding our masks, revealing our souls in their true colours. An echo of freedom that breaks through centuries of silence,” the reality star wrote via Twitter. “Today we are seen and celebrated. Today our masks are off, our love is loud. A performance decorated with the nuances of who we want to be, who we are and the distance between them. After all, isn’t everything we all do just a form of dragging? 🌈.”
She wasn’t the only reality star at the June 4 event. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars and besties Garcelle Beauvais And Sutton Tight wore matching rainbow fans while being driven in a Sutton Concept convertible.
While West Hollywood hosted the first major star-studded pride parade in the US in 2023, the festivities will continue throughout the summer. New Orleans and Los Angeles are scheduled for the second weekend in June, while Chicago and Portland are the third weekend of the month. Pride celebrations in New York City and Nashville take place during the last Saturday and Sunday of the month.
