Pregnant mum moved house after living next to ‘hell on earth’

A mum-of-two said she had to move house because she was scared for her children after living next to a nightmare neighbour.

The once-quiet Briarfield Road in Ellesmere Port has been plagued in recent years by a neighbour who turned the street into “hell on earth”. The 50-year-old, and his friends caused havoc with late-night parties, drug use, and violence.

On Friday, May, 19 a closure order was granted and the house was boarded up by Cheshire Police. The mum said that life on the street was “horrendous” and was afraid to let her children go outside.

She told the ECHO: “It was absolutely horrific just constant disruption, in the two and a half years we lived there it was none stop 24 hours a day. People were in and out of the house, and police were there constantly he was always off in the street kicking off or someone else was kicking off.

“It was horrendous I mean at the time my daughter must have been 13 and we could not come out through the front door. I would not let her leave that way, we would always come in the house through the alleyway because we did not want to be in the street.”

The man has since been ordered to leave the property and find alternative accommodation, with all windows and doors being boarded up for three months. Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
